It is possible…It is possible
I have been sitting on the edge with my feet dangling looking down and wondering if I could make some kind of leap. I have wondered if it is possible, really possible, to push all the negativity and worry aside and just say “YES!” I want to push my palms off the ground and jump, but I don’t know how to do it.
The past two weeks, I received two pieces of good news from two people who dare to live the artist life in ways that I only wish and starting to figure out how to do. The first is my friend Andrea Lindsay, who I have mentioned before. She is an amazing singer. Do check out her website here and listen to this amazing talent. Andrea decided a couple of years ago to quit her job and focus on her music full time. She figured if she was going to make a go of it, this was her time to do it. And it has paid off. Two CDs later, she has been nominated for a Juno (the Canadian music award) for best Francophone album. I wept with glee with I heard for nothing makes me happier than seeing my friends succeed in their passions. She took that leap and she is reaping the rewards of her success.
The other happened just moments ago when my brother, who has been in the writing life much longer than I and has seen publication successes in magazines and journals. Not only are his plays being performed across Canada, but one of his shows will be at the Fringe festival in Toronto this summer. But, that my friends isn’t the best of this news. He received a grant so that he can concentrate on his art. I am a proud sister at this moment. I am also seeing that the possible can happen if you are patient.

It is possible. The question for me now is: How do I find a way to stop look at my dangling feet?
