Being in Transition; Being Enough

Confession. I’m terrible with transitions. The in-between time. I’m not patient and want things to happen in my own time and when they don’t I think it is because I’ve done something wrong. I am the first to turn on myself for not being good enough, smart enough, talented enough. Not enough. I’m currently in a transition. For the first time since 2011 I don’t have a book or writing deadline of any kind. I don’t have a good finished draft of anything because the one that I thought was kinda sorta done and I Read More

You Never Know…And Other Things I Learned (Remembered) on the Road: Part One

I’ve returned from my adventure very tired, but also ready to get to work. I’ve written about how I had wanted to go out east and have spent the last two months preparing for it. I’ve learned a lot about organizing book tours (and why people have assistants… to all assistants, I salute you!), and what I might do differently next time. But, I wanted to Read More

Celebration! Maud Launches in Toronto

I’m not always good at celebrating success. Probably because I get overachievy and can be quite hard on myself. Always looking to the next step on my path to said success. But today…I pause and say…YES! Success!!! Indeed, there has been much MAUD excitement over the past few weeks and I’ve moved to a new house. I have been taking photos of these changes and hope to write about this more shortly, but today it is time to celebrate and commemorate the week Maud officially launched into the world (it was also the week before I Read More

Maud in the Wild and Other Adventures

On Tuesday April 25, 2017 MAUD was officially launched in Canada and the United States. I celebrated by getting up bright and early and being on TV for the first time. The hosts, Carolyn Mackenzie and Jeff McArthur, made me feel at home. Carolyn and I got to chat before the show and she’s a big Montgomery and Laura Ingalls Wilder fan, so we connected right away. And when I confessed that this was the first time on TV, she immediately tried to make me feel more comfortable. I have been told that I rocked it…It Read More
